The next Henry County 200 bicentennial adventure features professional eaters and a heap of donut holes. Downtown New Castle will be hosting the World Donut Hole Eating Championship on May 27 at the 1400 Plaza as part of the Fourth Friday festivities. IMPORTANT NOTE: IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, LOOK FOR THIS EVENT ACROSS THE STREET IN THE ARTS PARK PAVILION.
Major League Eating (MLE) is producing this event which will feature top-ranked championship eaters from around the world (note: Joey Chestnut will not be available due to illness).
During the contest on May 27, professional eaters from MLE to see who can chow down the most donut holes from Jack’s Donuts. The slate of professional eaters is already set for the showdown. In addition to the eating contest, there will be live music, family activities, and food trucks from 6 to 9 pm. The featured music for the evening is Cook & Belle, presenting a powerful mix of country, soul, 60s & 70s music, and gospel.
The event is hosted in connection with Henry County’s 200th birthday celebration. During this event, there will be an opportunity to sign up for the record-setting knockout basketball competition happening June 25. Also happening June 25 is the Hoopla festival including bands, food, and basketball-related activities.
